First UTD CoreNet Southwest scholarship recipient named
University of Texas Dallas Junior Naa Ashardey Sackey-Addo is the first named recipient of the CoreNet Southwest UTD Real Estate Program Scholarship.
Naa is studying business administration with a concentration in real estate, and expects to graduate from the UTD Naveen Jindal School of Management in 2016.
CoreNet Southwest established the endowment for student scholarships and fellowships with a $10,000 donation in December, and will make equal payments each year until the Chapter has contributed $50,000, a sum which will be matched by UTD. At that point the endowment will be self sustaining.
According to Gensler Principal Ted Kollaja, president of CoreNet Southwest, the Chapter stages the CoreNet Southwest Golf Experience, an annual tournament, to raise funds for the endowment. This year's tournament is scheduled for Oct. 5th at Las Colinas Country Club.
Participants called Bottle Rocket tour best ever
Nearly 100 registered to attend the Bottle Rocket workspace tour Feb. 27th at the mobile app developer's newly designed headquarters on the Dallas Parkway. Presenters included Calvin Carter, CEO of Bottle Rocket, Gracie Andraos, Interior Designer at Gensler, Jeffrey Eiting, Vice President of CBRE and Karl Kerr, President of K2 Construction.
Several remarked that the evening event was one of CoreNet Southwest's best programs to date.
